Which “Star Wars” character is your favorite? Why?

There's a lot of good ones in mostly pre-Disney media, but I very rarely like Jedi characters much, so some standouts are Wedge Antilles, Kyle Katarn, most of the Clone commanders, and most of the major characters from the KOTOR/SWTOR games.

The problem with the Disney era is mainly garbage writing and tokenism, and it has gotten generally worse over time. Rogue One is an exception which I have almost no complaints over and liked pretty much every character seen on screen, but everything else Disney has made is little more than shameless revisionism and usurping classic characters with lazy alternatives. Many of these characters have solid foundations for a good story in their own right, but Disney inevitably tries to force them in place of fan favorite characters, or sidelines them to push someone else. A perfect example of this is Hera Syndulla: she's a solid character throughout much of the "Rebels" series, but they very brazenly tried to make her replace both Wedge Antilles and Han Solo in their follow-on content. Even "The Mandalorian" was adapted from a script that was supposed to be a Boba Fett movie that got canned, and then proceeded to also destroy that fan favorite character too. They've also completely demolished Darth Vader as a villain by crapping out more and more Jedi who survive the purge, and turning the Empire from a competent but arrogant galactic power ruled by a pragmatic but evil tyrant into a childishly stupid, moustache-twirling "evil for the sake of being evil" faction that is too dumb to exist, regularly thwarted in spectacular fashion by equally moronic teenagers who make Jar Jar Binks look like a wise luminary. There is a certain amount of "the good guys win in the end... Eventually" that Star Wars has long maintained, but Disney takes this to an extreme. This is probably because Disney Star Wars is basically made in a content factory rather than by a handful of genuine series fans loyal to source content; a sad fate that consumes pretty much every franchise sooner or later.

Darth Maul. One of the coolest villains ever with tons of depth and motivations you can actually understand and sympathize with.

Not to mention he's just a total badass.
