There's a scene in the final episode of Babylon 5 (and if you've seen it, you already know EXACTLY which one I'm talking about, and what I'm going to say next). If you're unfamiliar with show, it would mean nothing to you- oh, sure, the dialogue and the music are sad, but the lack of knowledge of the characters would make it meaningless. But if you do... well, I'll just say that if you've watched the show and it DOESN'T make you tear up, you don't have a soul. It's shortly followed by ANOTHER scene, in particular a specific shot from another scene, that, coupled with the first, will have you bawling. Nor is it just viewers- famously, JMS (the creator, showrunnner, and almost-exclusive WRITER of the show) posted on Usenet that many of the actors, upon reading the script, started crying, such was its power (although that's really the show as a whole).

I've watched a number of TV shows in my time, and have several of them on DVD (or other medium), and while I rewatch B5 every few years, and will generally have no objection to watching specific moments or episodes of anything else, the B5 finale I only watch at the end of a B5 run. It has more impact than I'm comfortable with, otherwise.
