Hard to pick. I gotta break down subgenres. But..
Classic rock: AC/DC
Thrash metal: either Slayer, early era Metallica, or Municipal Waste (thrash is my fav subgenre)
1st wave black metal: Bathory, Venom, Celtic Frost
2nd wave black metal: Mayhem
Death metal: Obituary
Blackened thrash: Midnight, Sodom
(Simply put) Heavy metal: Judas Priest!!
None are specific favorites, as I don't even have one big favorite band. I heavily love many.
