He plays bass and guitar.

Rock mostly with his bass, which is his main instrument. And mostly rock or acoustic things with guitar.

Thats oddly interesting. In my experience, most people who ay both guitar and bass start off with guitar and pick up bass on the way, not the other way round.

That is actually exactly how it went lol he just realized that bass is easy, plus a lot less people play bass. So it's a lot easier to be a extremely good bass player than it is an extremely good guitar player, thus he stuck with bass more. Also bass is more fun to play anyway.

I love bass as well. Its just really something to be dropping the bassline.

I would disagree about bass being easier though. I can't slap to save my life. I can only play some fingerstyle haha.

Well maybe he just has a knack for bass then lol he does great at slap and all sorts of styles.

I'm something of a musician I guess lol not so much anymore though. I played guitar and sing. I can do just the most basic bass and piano stuff. Us and a couple of our other friends briefly had a band when we were in our teens/early 20s. It was really fun, but adult life ended it pretty quickly

Im trying to learn classical guitar and also to sing. can't do a lot of songs though, given they impossibly high keys they were originally in.

Have been a drummer for most of my life, I absolutely love it.

I do hope my SO in the future turns out to be a musician too.

Yeah, singing can be tricky if you can't change the key to suit your voice. But yeah him being a musician has definitely been a plus. It's a nice thought that our children will likely have a genetic music bonus as well lol

I am working on developing a mixed voice, but ultimately I still sound best in chest. Side effect was being described by some friends as a teddy bear for some reason.

I do hope my children (If i decide to have any in the future) do get the musical DNA. can't be the only noisy one in the house. Also, teaching music to the youngins is a great way to bond.

It definitely is a good way to bond, plus is a great way to get their little minds working in different ways even while they are young. We babysat our friends year old baby yesterday, and you could clearly see that a little switch in her brain got flipped as soon as he started playing guitar for her.
