Naomi Watts gave an nterview where she criticized Hollywood beause she was told that her career could be over at 40, I mean really? No wonder the pressure for plastic surgeries and to look flawless in so many actresses, they had to keep themselves young, they can't be a normal human beign with flaws, like you or me, otherwise they are not worth anymore in the entertainmetn business. Who are the people who put pressure on the celebs in Hollywood? Directors, Big studios presidents, Executive producers, their own agents or managers or who? I mean do those douchebags believe celebs are not human beings who do not age and also die like any normal ordinary human being or what?

I do wonder though if these celebs know the pressure to still be active and have a job in Hollywood but disagree on so many things at the same time, why the heck they continue to work as an actor or actress? I mean Im sure they have enough money alreayd to retire and live a mundane life like you or me away from Hollywood, but no some still want to be in the limelight and being famous and at the same time criticize the person who gave them work.

Like Naomi also stated in the article. For Hollywood an actress with grey hair is no good but then a actor with gray hair is great and they are not criticized as much as an actress with gray hair, what a double standard!! The same applies with nudity in Hollywood, so a woman can get naked and display boobies and butt or other parts of her body and it is fine cause it is expected in a woman but then if an actor does the same thing, it is unusual, noone wants to see a actor naked, it is not normal, is it like something prohibited, again double standard.

This comment about nudity in Hollywood being double stardard I watch it in a old interview from actor Chris Pine he says Hollywood is a double standard when it comes to nudity and he disagrees that why is normal in a actress to do it and not a man doing it and people talks and questions more man nudity but not focus so much in a woman nudity.

How is this any different than being a professional athlete?
For example, few players in any of the 4 major sports are over 40.
Why?
Because what is wanted is a healthy athlete and most athletes over 40 have lost athletic talent and perform less than they have due to injuries over their careers or simple aging.
The ones who stick around and still play like Tom Brady who is 44 or 45ish? They have a health regimine to maintain their health as long as they can.

Well, in movies, many of the stories involve younger women because I guess that's what sells (after all, my God, every fucking movie now is a superhero comic book movie or some stupid Disney shit).

The real problem in Hollywood is that they need to write more adult films that have parts for adult women.
Hollywood needs to return to the movies of the 1970s before blockbusters came along and everyone was obsessed with opening weekend box office and brand extension.

You are right when you say that now every movie is just about superhero comic book movie and Disney stuff. Whatever happen to good old drama mystery, action movies. I mean I dotn mind blockbusters but the superhero stuff is getting boring already now evertything is about that. Why? Because the young generation is the market for these genre. Seriously, watch a movie like "Julia" or "An Unmarried Woman" or "Coming Home". These were significant late 1970s movies involving central characters who are women 40ish or older. Then try imagining doing "brand extension" by selling action figures, bookbags, and Happy Meals based on the characters in those movies. You couldn't. So you don't make movies like that.

It's fucking criminal.
Like TV's abuse with reality TV and 15000 cable/streaming stations so you can't have appointment viewing anymore, I stopped watching TV and stopped going to the movies. The last movie I saw was... I was going to say "the last Star Wars movie", but Disney cranks them out for brand extension like crap through a goose. "The Rise of Skywalker" and I only caught it on the last day before "Black Panther" premiered thus replacing it.

I just don't bother. I listen to radio/SiriusXM or stream YouTube videos now. Cute cats doing stupid shit is more entertaining than the crap Hollywood is putting out with regularity now.

Another part of the problem is that Hollywood has been cranking out immature shit for so long - I can't think of a significant adult movie in the last 10 years - that many of the movie-going public north of 35 have stopped going (*). So, since that means it's only young people attending movies, movies are going to be marketed toward them. For young man, that means fights, stuff blowing up, and hot women. For young women, that means hot men. Since young men mostly think young women are hot, young women get cast. However, a lot of women have daddy / authority figure fetishes, so both hot young men and reasonably attractive older men (who don't play villains) get cast.

(*) Except for those people who grew up with stuff. For instance, I am 59, almost 60. I've seen all the original Star Wars trilogy-of-trilogies movies and "Rogue One" in theaters since 1977. So, because I remember the magic of seeing these movies in theaters (**), I have a tendency to go although that pretty much has stopped now after "Rise of Skywalker".

Naomi and the rest of the celebs played the game, set crazy high standards for millions of everyday women, made millions of dollars doing so, and now they want to cry about being washed up at 40 while still living in their mansions and vacationing in their other mansions around the globe.

The rest of the world's 40 yo women with grey hair probably have the same feelings, but they can keep their jobs as nurses, doctors, lawyers, baristas, and waitresses hoping to save enough money to pay off their car, house, and retire someday.

I find this kind of criticism hilarious, frankly. Basically it tends to come from an actress who got her start and became known in the first place because she was HOT. You never heard her complain about the "pressure to be hot" when she was hot. In fact, she freaking LOVED it then because she beat out all the other actresses due to her hotness.

Then the day comes when she's NOT so hot anymore and starts getting passed up for parts by other younger, hotter girls with spectacular bodies who are willing to get naked or whatever. All of a sudden she has some kind of Damascene conversion as though she'd never, NEVER heard of a system where the hot win! lol! Hilarious in the hypocracy.

The other thing that's amazing about this is how delusional these actresses are. Most have no genuine acting talent that's greater than any of the other aspiring actresses out there. They're literally JUST eye candy. What the hell do they EXPECT to happen as they get older?
