For those of you who have children?

Did you ever bring them to concerts when they were kids or teens? If so, who did you being them to see?

I remember bring mine to see who my oldest wanted to see. They were: Good Charlotte, Weezer, and AFI. Have you heard of these bands? I remember coming out deaf out of a few Good Charolotte ones, as well as the AFI ones.

I actually became so accustomed to these songs being played at home, that I began to like a few! Here is one that wasn’t too bad. Brings back memories of my teen girls (shudders)…

My kids were into classical music, musicals and band music. Each of them played in the school bands and orchestras. We went to several of those concerts, but not any name acts... it just wasn't something they were interested in.

My oldest was into punk rock music, the soft kind... if you see those videos, it was not heavy metal or anything like that--the songs are just noisy. My youngest surprisingly enough, was into older music, like Buddy Holly, Simon and Garfunkel, and some other 50's and 60's artists. It's like she was born in the wrong era. Both play musical instruments; the idlest plays acoustic guitar, and the youngest plays bass and ukelele, which she taught herself. I had the oldest in the "School of Rock" in NJ. She got to play with them in some places.

We took the kids to see the Beach Boys. It was the last time Brian Wilson toured with the band. John Stamos was drummer. My daughter was thrilled to see Uncle Jesse in person

I didn't know John Stamos was the drummer for the Beach Boys?

After Dennis Wilson died they got John Stamos to go on tour with them. It was 1990.

I took my daughters to see, Irish dancing, like lord of the dance, also to remembrance shows,

I have never taken my kids to indoor concerts. I've only taken them to outdoor amphitheaters. They weren't little though.

The Weezer one we went to was at an Amphitheater, the only one outdoors.

My daughter was 15 when I took her to a concert in the amphitheater. My son was 14. It was part of their birthday present to see their favorite bands at the time

I took my then 16 yr old and 12 yr old to the concerts. One of them was in PA in Wilksbarre, far from us in NJ so we stayed. I have to say--it was a fun time for them both and it kind of bonded us a bit more. I'm glad I was able to do it.
