What do you think of Netflix's new show That 90s Show a sequel to That 70s Show?

Do you think it'll be as successful as That 70's Show? Why or why not?

To me it's nostalgic and takes me back to when me and my friends use to watch this That 70s Show during sleepovers and on Saturday nights while playing Nintendo or computer games.

There WAS an attempted "That 80s Show" in 2002, but it only lasted one season, in spite of having the perky Brittany Daniel as a cast member.

I think what made "That 70's Show" work so well was not only the younger cast members who drew in the younger audience, but also the *older* cast members, with whom older viewers (who had actually lived through the 1970s as adults) could relate. In particular, my own parents enjoyed the exchanges between Kitty and Red Forman (Debra Jo Rupp and Kurtwood Smith) and Midge and Bob Pinciotti (Tanya Roberts and Don Stark). And for those of us who WERE kids in the 1970s the adult figures in our lives were a mixture of crusty older types, like the Formans, and now grown up ex hippies, like the Pinciottis.

coincidentally... I tried a couple of episodes today

will it be AS successful? never, no... the kids are not good enough actors, and the scripts are not nearly as involved as the original

if I keep watching is because of nostalgia and my OCD tendencies/fixations with completion

I'm curious about it and I'm going to watch it for sure. It probably won't be the same but it might be interesting too. I loved "That's 70's Show", it brings me so many good memories. I'm feeling nostalgic...
