  Because she was basically gaslit by investigators to say she lied about what happened

  She was charged with making a false statement which is unusual in cases like that. Plus her rapist wasn't found until 3 years after when two detectives solved the case of a serial rapist and found evidence amongst his stuff. He was an army veteran.
