Hank Williams is really excellent but he might be hard to get into for people who are more used to more refined and pop style modern country. I really recommend trying him though his music is foundational for a lot of modern country. "Honky Tonk Blues" "Your Cheatin' Heart" "Lost Highway" "I heard that Lonesome Whistle" are all excellent.
