His real life voice actor passed away today at age 64. What was your favorite King of the Hill moment?
Most of these are "lines" as opposed to full episodes, but here are some of my favorite moments:
::Peggy grabs a "Vidja game" because Bobby is antagonizing Hank and not listening... Bobby gets angry... "That's my purse! I don't know YEW! ::kicks Peggy in the crotch:: "I believe you will find that I have no testicles... where's your secret weapon now?"
I liked some of the ones with Cotton, like the one where Hank finds out he was actually born in New York; where Cotton and his friends try to assassinate Castro and frame Hank...
"Good Hank." There was the one where Cotton is talking to GH, (maybe this is the one where GH is born, I'm not sure) and says "Are ya gonna kill some... (and he calls them) Naaa-zies? Naaaazi-wazies?"
The one where Bill Dauterive invites a group of guys over (I think they're recovering addicts, but I could be wrong), and he puts on the puppet show. "It's a... heart Mur-mur!"
I liked the one where a bunch of the townspeople, led by Peggy, try to run a con to scam some guy who had scammed them out of money. I think it was something to do with horse racing. I think the scammer was voiced by Jeff Goldblum, but I could be wrong.
One of my favorites: guest starring Tom Poston... where Bobby meets a senior living in a home... they hit it off, and Bobby is given the guy's ventriloquist dummy, Chip Block. It's funny, from the guy hiding in the curtains thinking he's going to catch the nurse/orderly who's stealing his cufflinks... The guy doing a bad impression of windshield wipers... to Dale's PTSD visions of when he was a kid and got a copy of the dummy... Dale hiring (can't remember his name, but he seems to always hire this guy as some kind of soldier of fortune or hitman) the guy (is it Enrique, maybe?) to "kill" the dummy. Hank bonding with Chip over sports... It ends with Hank bonding with Bobby by building him his own dummy to replace Chip... which is a sweet ending.
(D'oh!) I realized there was only one Enrique - Hank's coworker at Strickland. OCTAVIO is Dale's friend and often hired soldier of fortune/hitman/occasional lawyer.
Sad to hear. To be honest, I haven’t watched a ton of KOTH. I grew up watching Beavis & Butthead, and something about Hank just having a repackaged voice of Mr. Anderson from B&B put me off at the time, which is crazy, because I thought Mr. Anderson was hilarious. I love everything else I’ve seen from Mike Judge, though, so I should really watch King Of The Hill. I’m far enough removed now to separate the two characters from the shared voice, I think. I think I remember this Dale character being pretty funny though, from what little I’ve seen.
That’s sad news! I don’t have a favourite Dale moment that sticks out, but one of my favourite story lines from KOTH was when Bobby took a women’s self defence class.

When Hank saw Bobby with a cheerleader uniform on his bed and said, "Bobby, there better be a naked cheerleader under your bed". He was firmly against Bobby sewing.
my favorite dale moment is when he was locked in the mental institution and he started causing chaos while insane in the membrane by cypress hill was playing in the background
I didn't know that. Too bad, I heard that they might be bringing the show back
I did. :( I don't see the reboot happening or them replacing Johnny like they did with Victor Aaron's character
My favorite King of the Hill moment is when Hank said, “BwAAAAUUGHHH-aAAuugh”
Now was it Dale Gribble or was it Rusty Shackleford?😆
Never heard of either... Sorry.
woah that's weird to think about
I didn’t know. That’s sad.
Awww dang. That sucks
Sha sha sha in peace!!!
