Ok here is the scenario. You have a loaded firearm ready to rock and roll. Could you pull the trigger without hesitating at all? And if so what would you be emptying the clip on?

I would use mine only if an armed person was threatening me or someone else with immanent harm. Like if I saw them pointing a gun at people at an ATM or in a restaurant. Or if they broke into my home.

Depending on the circumstances, I would probably point my firearm and tell them to lower theirs, lie on floor, and wait for the police to arrive. But if they made a threatening move, or if they had already harmed someone, I wouldn't hesitate to put a couple of holes in their center mass. If they didn't go down, I would shoot again.

No, I wouldn't automatically empty my magazine on them. A full magazine is there in case you get into a gun battle and are pinned down by multiple shooters.

The point of defense is to neutralize the threat, not to try to kill someone.

But if some fuck put me in the position of having to actually shoot them, I'd be pissed. I wouldn't feel sorry for them one bit.

It's worth watching the documentary the truth about killing that was shown on uk tv. I've included a link to part one. It argues 98% of people are unable to kill despite bravado boasting and shows how the military has had to develop training programs to change our mindsets.
