Baby critters. A good glass of wine on a cool evening. That final stretch before the finish line at every ruckmarch I go on. Time with loved ones.
@Andres77 Aw damn brother I hate to hear that ist. I got the Army knees so I don't run anymore and a few blown vertibrae from an IED, but at least the rucking I can still take. Snowboarding too, oddly enough. You tried with different rucks? Maybe one of those ultralights that puts like ALL the weight on your hips? Tech has come along way from back in my day. I've found the civilian market has way outpaced ours with tech. Of course, there was always a bunch of RFI stuff we replaced with COTS too so I guess maybe not always.
Wish I could help though. It's brought me a lot of joy since I got out. I would share it with everybody if I could.
@Andres77 yeah brother absolutely. haha if we were closer i'd say come over and we'll test 'em out at the local park. I've got a smaller arcteryx that I use when traveling that has the shoulder adjustments to keep the load high and tight to your upper back and a great waistband, so all the weight is on my hips but it's not banging against my upper back because it's nestled in there. It's 15 years old I bet. I'm always reading on backpacker sites about all the new stuff I just can't justify getting something when my old one isn't worn out, but it's way different than it was even post-iraq.
When I see my wife with our children, just being their mom. Otherwise, I never smile.
When I know I have to be social and don't try and make them uncomfortable with my reality
I'm honestly always smiling usually.
