What's the reason for Elastigirl in the Incredibles movie having a lisp?

I love everyone in the Incredible 2 Cast, but especially Elastic Girl's voice is something that makes me think. Have you ever thought about this or am I just thinking too much?

Oh this is funny. I really really REALLY thought she didn't have a lisp in the first Incredibles (2004).
So I thought they switched the voice actress.

Now I gotta go watch both of them again to mentally enjoy them the way I usually enjoy animations.

That being said... I think the actress herself has some kinda impairment due to hearing loss on one side. But this is just my theory.

I enjoy animations too much to go mess up the animations fantasy-world by digging into the background of it.

I never noticed it. I'm familiar with Holly Hunter (The Firm, The Piano, Network News, Raising Arizona) and to me she sounded exactly like she always sounds. If there is something about her voice that you've accurately identified then it must just be how she talks.

Probably the voice actress has a lisp. I thought it was hilarious that after coming out of retirement after a few years and kids she had a bigger butt

People sound different and some folks have lisps.

Personally I love all the voice acting in The Incredibles. They all fit really well.

Maybe that's what the person that created the character wanted. One of the movies I did, they said they wanted my character to have a high, raspy voice so, even though I have a deep voice with no rasp, I did something kinda like The Crypt Keeper with a rasp.

It's just a character trait. Characters need a unique set of character traits. It makes it easier for us to suspend our disbelief because in the real world everyone is unique.

I've got to watch the movie now. I never watched the second one. Maybe she's just a good actor, lisp or not.

The voice is Holly hunter's she's a Georgia peach. You're hearing her southern drawl, not a lisp.
