I grew up in Japan so only got to see Japanese cartoons mostly. Yet my absolute favorite was Hokuto No Ken (AKA Fist of the North Star). It's like Mad Max meets superhuman martial artists who can slice limbs and cause bodies to implode using their bare hands.

It's ultimately a show about different types of masculinity in my perspective. There is Raoh who is the ambitious leader, Ken who is the protector, Rei who is the loner, Toki who is the healer, and a variety of other characters in between. I always liked Raoh (most badass character):
