Oh, I love to read, and I much prefer reading a real book made from real paper! There is just something about holding a book in your hands, feeling the binding, the texture of the paper, and especially if that book is an older book! The smell of that book, from the old ink to the aging paper… Just WOW! I was gifted a first edition Keats, at age 14. John Keats died in early 1821. The smell of that book which is over 200yrs old… Almost nothing else on earth gives me the feeling of carefully holding that book, smelling its’ age, seeing how each page is a slightly different size because each page was hand-cut, and knowing that each page was printed separately on a manually typeset press… It’s absolutely beautiful! It definitely beats the hell out of reading it on my Kindle! There is no tactile or sensual experience, its like the difference between great sex, and masturbation… Yeah they both get you to the same place, but one of them offers you SO much more!

Prefer to read: paperbacks and I often go on a shopping spree on fleemarkets for books and even in antiquities if they are affordable. That being said I rarely buy new books and rather go for the e-book version. Most books I read are from a library and their ebook library is far bigger than the paper versions.
Also I like having easy access to the book I am reading when I dont have a real book with me.

I used to go to the library simply because it was a private, quiet workspace. I'd write there.
However, I live in a rural part of the US, so our libraries have limited hours. Realistically, for me to go to a library would only be Saturday morning but I have too many errands to do at that time. Also, for books and such, I have multiple subscriptions to newspapers, buy printed books (and their e-book versions), and, mostly, I am interested in nonfiction textbooks; my local library is not good for that and even my local college library is a 2-year school. For that sort of thing - research - I'd prefer a university library.

I love the written word. It is something tangible, the feel and the smell of a new book. The excitement of opening it and reading the first few pages. Only then to say to yourself, just one more, and one more until day turns to night, and you realise you've done no work, no exercise, you haven't eaten and all you are left with is this immersive feeling of the book coming to life, yet the day has literally gone with nothing.
I have many types of perfect day off, but one that wasn't MEANT to be a day off certainly is up there as one of my favourites.

I prefer hardcover books, and I usually buy them.

I don't buy e-books at all, and I only buy paperbacks if a hardcover version of a book doesn't exist.

Libraries never have what I'm looking for, and I don't read novels, so I'm not the type to want to rent a book over buying it.

I honestly switched to audiobooks at this point. I'm always in my car or on the go with headphones so it's all music, podcasts and audiobooks for me.

At home prefer bound physical books.

While traveling i use ebook reader.

And i buy most of them, but i also have libary card which i can use to rent digital books, audiobooks and technically bound books as well.

I'll use kindle for new authors. My fav authors I'll still buy paperbacks. I will go back to the again and again to them as the mood strikes me. I only go to the library to donate books I will only read once.

I prefer real books, and I buy them... but I read a lot in English as original versions, and some never were printed as such where I live, so for me, the only option to have them is to buy them in the US Amazon and read them on my Kindle

But when it comes to published books, I strongly prefer to read them the old school way, with a paperback. I also really love that I can spend some time without a screen in my face.

I love paperbooks. In most cases I usually buy them, but I also go to the local library to get them. It's fascinating when you find someone's notes on the Book and add your own.
