What's your opinion about song remakes?

Question

I'll pick these two songs as an example:

Eiffel 65 - I'm Blue Da Ba Dee & Aqua - Barbie Girl, these two songs were trending back when i was a teenager and i always liked to listen to them but now there are remakes for these two songs, so i was wondering, why are they always doing remakes for songs that are considered now as oldies? Are they out of new music and lyrics? 🤣🤣

These are their remakes, do you prefer the remakes or the original ones 🤔

I usually consider it an homage. Most artists aren’t remaking songs they hated. Especially since they have to get permission to do a remake most of the time. So it’s a way for one or more artists to honor the artists who inspired them.
I’ve been hooked on genre busting remakes recently. Usually hard rock or heavy metal covers of pop songs. Think “Sound of Silence” by Disturbed, or “Blank Space” by I Prevail.

I do like many songs as remakes and covers... but not the original ones

many more, I do like the bit of new of a spin to it, here's an example...

I didn't like them until I heard the Fendertones do the Sloop John B. I think they were actually better than the Beach Boys version.

It seems like the entertainment industry is having trouble recruiting talent. It's probably all the pedophilia, homosexuality, human sacrifice, cannibalism, and satanic worship that driving people away... As a result they have to try to redistribute old content.

They often blow, as Five Finger Death Punch's "I'm A Believer"(Monkees,1966, written by Neil Diamond) and Rita Coolidge's "Higher And Higher" (the incomparable Jackie Wilson,1969) covers will attest. Of course, Ike and Tina Turner's GREAT "Proud Mary" (Credence Clearwater Revival) remake (though the original was d**n good) show that some covers are also excellent. ( Detroit rockers Adrenaline's cover of "Gimme, Gimme Good Lovin'" by Crazy Elephant may not be quite as good as the original, but it's more than good, VERY rock and roll.)

Certain bands, I mean unless if they play every note right, the voice is damn near exactly like the natural singer, then I'll listen. But these kerioke bands, I'll walk out, or make it just noise.

I like that type question. I can think of many songs remade. Sometimes the remake is better but I think the majority of originals stay true. I didn't care for either but the original won out.
