i I’ve seen the film , I think it was a really interesting take on this typical movie genre. Many see Zoe’s character as the villain when my interpretation is that the character tom played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt completely deserves the treatment he gets from summer. Good soundtrack too … my only complaint was how whiny Tom was but that played well with the character

Yeah , a little poetic symmetry with the seasons in the end. Did you side with Tom or summer though? Was summer evil or did Tom in some way cause their eventual breakup?

Yes. It's an excellent movie. I cannot remember a movie that captures the realities of male heartbreak better than that movie.

I liked it right up till the final 10 minutes. Because all romantic comedies follow the same sappy bull💩 formula. He'd finally come to terms with summer being out of his life. He wasn't angry, he wasn't sad, and he had closure and was moving on with his life, ALONE. And then the had to destroy it all by him meeting some new chick in an office lobby in the final 10 minutes. I thought we'd found the the best, most realistic romantic comedy. Then they f***ed it all up right at the end.

test audiences always go for the happy ending, and movie studios always go for what the test audiences want. the original script probably didn't start out this way

Haha I hate this movie. Could never complete this garbage movie. But there are a lot of guys like the protagonist of this movie. Especially in college ;)
