People that know about paint, how do you make a color lighter or brighter?

So I've got paint for leather, it's a light pink but I know that when it dries it won't look like the wet paint, I want to make it lighter so when the paint dries, i get the color that I want which is a light pink, kinda like salmon pink, I've got white paint, do i mix it with white paint to make it lighter? the shoe is the pink im going for, the bottle is what I have which looks like it but it's slightly darker and I know it will be darker when it dries.

Yeah you mix it with white paint. But I'd do some more research on how to get that salmon pink you want. Might be more to it...

Like mixing in a little red, orange, or yellow after the white. You gotta play around with it til you get it right 😉.
