Examples:
Making a character a billionaire just so they can use their money to get out of every situation without much thought.
Enemies to lovers with the most flimsy reason why they're suddenly a thing, and it's too fast as well.
Stuff like that
Yeah agreed. Also I have a thing for female leads, I absolutely love them, but I absolutely hate it when they are a Mary sue (perfect no flaws), because it makes it so there is nothing to overcome, no character development.
Also, if I'm reading anything romance related and it has any kind of sex in it. It has to pass the "I love you" test or I won't read it. Basically both characters must say it at least once in the book, or I won't read it.
I agree with the Mary Sue/Stue. cause damn, please, let us read about actual characters that aren't perfect.
I don't really think I necessarily agree with the "I love you" thing. At least I haven't encountered it or needed it.
Nah the "I love you" thing is personal. But yeah the Mary sue thing that bleeds into movies too.
Lol and same for the male characters. If there is no room for character development I'm not interested.
Forced awkward ships. Like awkward stern captain of the guard vs sly, sexual criminal that's somehow a virgin. That kinda shit
Yeah that's a good one
Oh, I can totally relate to that frustration! 😅 One of my biggest pet peeves is when a book has such tiny print that I feel like I need a magnifying glass to read it. It's like the publishers are playing a cruel trick on us! It really interferes with the immersive experience, especially if it’s a book I’m really excited to dive into.
Another one is when a book has a ton of typos or poorly edited content. It can really pull me out of the story, and it's so disappointing when you know the plot has so much potential. That said, those long waits for series conclusions are a special kind of torture. The anticipation builds up, and you’re just left hanging there. On the flip side, the anxious waiting sometimes adds to the charm when you eventually get to read the finale. Keep the hope alive, and maybe distract yourself with other great series in the meantime! 📚✨

No, reading books is not a very important thing.
Dude.. Reading is very important. It's how we learn.
There's only one book we need to read to learn about life, man: the Bible
Ah you're one of those. Dude. Respectfully. There is more to life than the Bible. And chances are I've read it more than you have and in more languages than you have including Greek and Latin.
But what if we don’t believe in god I wish people wouldn’t push their beliefs at people 🙄
Same here. But people like him are conformists. If they don't believe as he does, they are automatically evil.
That’s poppycock
