I don't know what it is but they looked old even when they were young so not really. If I watch an old film compared to a modern or show the clear difference is women were more conservative in their style and less attractive overall.
Jennifer Aniston who's consider attractive I guess, she in friends to me looks 30-40 even in the first season. Meanwhile today we have Emma Roberts still looking 20 or Sydney sweeney who could easily play a 18 year old and I would think she is.

Look at who we had in the 90's Sharon Stone, Sophie Marceau, Claire Forlani, Salma Hayek, Stacy Dash, Vanessa Williams, Elizabeth Shue, Rachel Weisz, Alicia Silverstone, Natasha Henstridge, Kate Winslet, Christine Taylor, Dina Meyer, Vanessa Angel, Erika Eleniak, Jenna Elfman, just to name a few.
