What generation of music is the best? You have old school bands that know how to really sing vs today's music like Taylor swift. Today's bands can't sing without auto tune. What do you think?

The Dead Can Dance, Galaxie 500, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Ride, XTC, Demolition Hammer… all the niche ones I can think of on the top of my head… tbh I listen to them but I only remember the actual songs and albums lol so some of them might be from different genres altogether

Aye thats a tough one now… every one of that bunch can hold their own, but they shine in different lights… or none at all. Dead can dance are like walking into a cathedral at night, stunning vocals.
500 is like being on a cloud of melancholy and Jesus and mary chain is if that cloud was candyfloss lol

and across all of them, Hammers is just pure thrasher music. Nothing airy about it. Probably them ifI had to choose. More my kind of crack

I think this is as old as it gets in terms of regular listening. Now I do listen to the odd 50s or 60s track playing in some random radio station but that’s about it

It's true. Musical creativity excelled in the 1960s and '70s. Labels signed people with talent. The greatest rock and pop singers of all time came from that period.

Now labels promote celebrities, not musicians. It's all about money, not music.

The decade 1965 1975 was the best. There was still old time Rock and roll, British invasion. , Woodstock and Folk revival. Then Diaco came along
