When I was a kid and I use to watch TV that had commercials on it, I use to zone out or leave the room. I never watched them and they never influenced me to buy anything. As an adult I still don't watch commercials, but I also don't watch broadcast TV and I have ad blockers online so I don't even see commercials unless someone points out a specific commercial. So as an adult, commercials have only lead to me boycotting companies that push agendas that negatively affect my life. In summery companies have paid a lot of money to lose my business if they had it and have never persuaded me to part with a single penny as a result of a commercial.

I see the TV commercials but I generally don't pay attention to them, unless it's something I might be interested in.

I often play games on my tablet while watching TV, and I can concentrate on the game during the commercial.

I stopped watching TV over a year and a half ago, but when I did watch TV, yes, I would immediately hit the "MUTE" button and find something else to do. I couldn't even listen to them because they were filling my brain 🧠 with nonsense.
