I've read up on the difference between the two and I watched all of the show The Last Kingdom all the way through. Through that show, I developed a liking and respect for viking culture. Vikings were definitely more of a free people in the way they lived and their beliefs in comparison to the rigid Saxons. While they were more violent, raided villages, and had sacrificial rituals, which I'm against, every other aspect of their lives I resonate with more than the Saxons.

Definitely Viking for me.

I would rather be a Viking if I’m meant to be middle class because at least Viking culture promotes bravery and success


But if I’m a noble Saxon I would have a far easier life

It's not the first time and overall I am going through a period where I am reading history books on that particular historical period and I am watching programs such as the last kingdom and a Knight of the seven kingdoms which inspired me to ask this question. 🙃

Yes and no, the vikings ruled a big chunk of England up until late 900s but were prevented from expanding by the saxons, there's a 3 way battle in 1066 which effectively ends viking and saxon rule when the French take over.
Pity the poor sods of Hereford, the saxons, the welsh, and vikings all joined up to attack the town.
