My favorite is Fang Yuan from Reverend Insanity, it's a chinese fantasy light novel and it's too long to read but i hope i can finish it before it finishes me, Fang Yuan is one of the smartest antagonists i have ever seen, in a world ruled by power with no mercy the only main goal is to survive, but Fang Yuan is a total manic and a Machiavelli who doesn't care about anything and anyone but his goals, he would manipulate a whole continent just to get the enough recourses he needs to do whatever he wants + he already knows what would happen because he lived for 500 years and he made a Gu which enabled him to send his mind to the past with all of his experience and knowledge to his younger self so he won't fall for the same mistakes and make a better use of his knowledge of cultivation, he is the opposite of everything that the eastern Philosophy calls for, his individualism and mindset made the Chinese government ban the novel and it was not continued since then.
