They are pushing an absurd waste of money in everyone's face at a time when probably 80% of people are struggling with high prices and unaffordable housing. That city voted for a mayor who said he would make things affordable, but he hasn't done one single thing yet, in fact, the opposite. And she's having her wedding at one of the great landmarks of that city. The main topic of conversation among the guest was, “do you know why you were invited? We hardly know Taylor Swift.” James Taylor said he had met her one time when she was 14, before she was famous, and she had sought him out at one of his shows. After she was famous, he had to be told by someone on his staff that he had met her that time; he had no idea. Yet, he was invited to her wedding as if he were an intimate family friend.

And they'll be divorced in under 5 years anyway (now I think even fewer years).

People who don’t care about them feel like the relationship is being marketed 24/7, so a fake “wedding” rumor becomes an easy target. Add stan wars, parasocial jealousy, and culture-war nonsense, and it turns into drama way beyond a normal celebrity couple.
