What is your favorite television series from the year you were born?

Maybe i was fortunate in that regard, but there were a lot of top shows in 1973 that were still going strong by the time i discovered the boob tube.
“All in the Family” held the top spot, and i did enjoy that show. In fact, the next three were also watched commonly in my childhood home; “The Waltons”, “Sanford and Son” and “MASH”.
Lower in the ratings, but particular favorites of mine were “The Wonderful World of Disney”, “The Six Million Dollar Man” and “Kung Fu”.
When you look back at the ratings for the year you were born, are there shows that remained popular when you were old enough to watch? What was your favorite?

My favorite is probably Get Smart. It premiered in '65 and I came along in '66. I believe it ended in 1970.

I never saw the original, but the 2008 movie was funny!

Hogan's Heros started in 65 and i came along 3 years earlier, but that was always my fav.

I seem to have a distant memory that used to haunt me in a past life, if possible. I was either a German soldier or American, I feel American but I could be biased. I think slain on a German battlefield. Or maybe wounded and made prisoner. Who knows?

But this is why I loved HH. And sleeping in cold rooms brought on the haunting feeling when I was a preteen.

I guess it would have to be Roseanne. Don’t seem to be a lot of great shows that debuted in 1988.

It doesn’t have to debut the year you were born. As long as it was on the air when you were born, it counts.
