Love love love Final Fantasy Tactics. It's one of my all time favorite games. My favorite Ramza build is a monk with his squire tricks as a secondary. Full on buff machine that can hit like a truck. In the base game it also was OP to have a calculator but they fixed it in the remake.
Also really enjoyed Valkyria Chronicles when I first played it. I bought it again on Steam to play on my steamdeck but haven't played much of it, not because of it, but because i have been hooked on other games.
I gave fire emblem a try and while I dont hate it, I couldn't find the same love for it as my boyfriend has for the series. He was more into some of the GameCube versions of the game. Haven't seen him play any of the newer ones yet but that may be because on his days off we play a lot of co-op games.
Never tried Xcom but have heard its pretty hard.
If you haven't played it yet another great recent one is Unicorn Overlord. fantastic and just as addictive as FFT in my opinion

... ok reporting back. Preliminary results are mixed for me. It sounds like an interesting game. Kind of like Suikoden in the number of recruits you can get (60 recruits is a healthy amount), but is this about an autobattler? I can't control every movement in battle? Is this just an option you can choose or is it forced to auto battle each time?
Used to years ago but dont have a platform.
I used to play Rome Total war and shogun total war. Star trek armada. Command & Conquer as i recall had some famous women in it like Kelly Hu, Gemma Atkinson, Jenny Mc Carthy, Gina Carano
These games are probably why I didn't do as well as I could have at school, litteraly took up huge chunks of my day.
