Toe rings: Are they sexy? Or are they trashy?

The girls at work were discussing toe rings today. Some of them said they're very unappealing in a low-life sense, but one said she wears one or two every day even though she wears heels and pantyhose, because her boyfriend likes them when he comes over. So are they sexy or trashy or what do you think?

I don't really think they're either, if anything they're just very dated. They always remind me of the 90's/early 2000's.
