When I was in Hawaii I saw that the waitress was braless, it was upsetting. Not because she was braless but because of the way she was behaving. I noticed that when she came over she would strategically cover them like she didn't want people staring. At first I thought this was because she noticed I noticed and was now trying to keep them from my view which made me uncomfortable as if I was doing something wrong. Then I noticed she was doing it with ALL her customers. I overheard her say to the bartender "86ing the boobs." Which I took to mean she tried it and she decided it wasn't a good idea.
I've been a nudist, I've been on adult movie sets and a lot of other adult settings, so something like this isn't a shock to me. But someone acting like being near me is causing someone anxiety would obviously make anyone uncomfortable and I just wanted to enjoy my meal.
I wanted to take the waitress aside and say "Hey, if you are going to do this, then do it, own it. If you are going to be a pioneer, let it be what it is going to be. Some people will stare, others won't. Some will get turned on, so what, your tips will probably only be better. Accepting that some people will look at her desire and her letting that be 'whatever' would be a step towards her self empowerment. One thing you learn about nudity is that when conservative people are exposed to it they are at first taken aback but you can't stay surprised for long.
The only way girls are going to be able to go braless and get all girls to be comfortable with it is for the brave ones to go braless and know in the beginning people are going to notice and stare for all kinds of reasons, especially girls who compare themselves. The first girls that do it and just go about their day will get the public used to it and the public for the most part will get used to it.
So the goal isn't to get people to not stare... the goal is to let them stare and let them get over it. I'm not talking about them staring like Steve Martin's nose in Roxxane, but normal staring. I think it is empowering if a girl is strong enough to accept some reasonable amount of staring, especially this new trend of going braless... it shows a lot of self confidence. A small number of people never will get over brainlessness, but those same people will never get over a girl showing cleavage, you can't let that affect your life.
I saw a girl last night in a coffee house and she was braless... with pokies... and she owned it and I was like... you go girl. But if that same girl was acting like she was feeling naked and full of anxiety... that is going to make everyone around her uncomfortable.
So go braless... own it... let the world notice... and be self confident and help the world get used it.
Its true a lot more women and girls are going braless. At the end of the day generally from a kid a girls parents will buy them a bra, which sets the premise of the fact she has to wear one. In fact she does not. Going braless is about what the female wants and feels comfortable with. My wife often wear no bra, when she goes out shopping, or a night out, neither is a sexual statement although guys seem to think a woman who has no bra or her nipples are pointing is a green light to want to jump into bed with him. That may be true sometimes, but mostly if you are comfortable with no bra, its perfectly natural to not wear one.

I usually go braless and commando. I love the way clothes adhere to my body, specially to my nipples giving me pokies. Besides I love to go that way 'cause I hate the pressure of underwear strings attached to my body. In the other way, when you're wearing for example a summer dress that way, it's amazing to feel how the breeze caresses your nipples and your vag. It's a wonderful sensation you should experiment at least once. Lol.
I do go braless in public quite often. I'm a 36C or D depending on the bra, very firm and perky and the pokies do happen, lol. I wear a lot of short skirt/button-front blouse combos, shirtdresses and when in casual mode, light tops. I do work out a lot to keep firm and tight and it works.

Yeah, I'm only a 32B and they're perky so I don't need a bra, I haven't worn one in months so it's with any outfit. I just don't wear anything white, and you have to be careful bending over in some tops. If my nipples are hard, yeah I guess it's apparent, it just doesn't bother me anymore.
I've done so very often. However, I do it discreetly. I don't go out bra-less with a tight blouse to point my nipples out on others or worse like hoping to win a wet t-shirt contest. I had my fair share of those when I was in college and slightly after.
I honestly cannot help it, but the idea of a girl being braless is a major turn on, pokies can be a great indication! Though I also admit I don't understand why girls will go out sometimes like they do, as it is clear they are wearing nothing, and some outfits show a lot,, especially through the low cut arm holes. I understand it in dresses with low backs ect, but not just in a random top.
It's one of those two much information scenarios and get's me thinking in a rather sexist way like smash or pass instead of I wonder what book she is reading, what a nice smile or is she smart or something.
