Henry Cavill was very very good but still not as much fun as the late great Christopher Reeve was.

The problem with Henry Cavill - and it's not his fault - is that Henry Cavill does such a good job as Superman that he indirectly illustrates why Superman itself actually a rather stupid concept.

For instance, consider Man of Steel which is very good in so many ways - except for the absolute idiocy and inconsistency regarding the abilities of Kryptonians.

Case in point: Superman and Lois have surrendered themselves and are aboard Zod's ship. Lois has a mask on because the Kryptonian atmosphere is different (OK, good... that's smart). Superman is having a rough time without a mask - he's been breathing Earth's atmosphere for too long so he's having a rough time adjusting to the Kryptonian atmosphere. What this indicates is that Superman needs to breathe.

Later, as the computerized ghost of Jor-El helps, Lois escapes in a pod that goes uncontrollably falling toward Earth sure to burn up.
Jor-El assists Superman and encourages him to go rescue Lois. BUT THE SIDE OF THE KRYPTONIAN SHIP IS EXPOSED TO THE VACUUM OF SPACE YET SUPERMAN IS TALKING WHICH REQUIRES BREATHING.

Michael Shannon as Zod, Antje Traue as Faora, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, and Henry Cavill as Superman were all good performances - especially Shannon as Zod who at least deserved an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor. That movie had style, but the action sequences were ridiculous as were the inconsistencies. It won my award for Bad Physics Movie of the Year.

What Henry Cavill's Superman lacked was the emotional innocence and vulnerability that Christopher Reeve's Superman did. He may be Superman, but he's a "shy guy" puppy dog for Lois in 1978's Superman. When Christopher Reeve was chosen to play Superman, we were agasp and what a fantastic choice he was. Even his name, Reeve, was reminiscent of George Reeves who play Superman in The Adventures of Superman than we all grew up with back then.

I agree with you in regards to Christopher Reeve's portrayal of Superman being the best.

There are always multiple flaws in super hero movies, for example star lord surviving in space with no gloves on his hands and nothing covering his hair.

If we are going by logic, batman can never beat superman. Superman can get to batman, smash his head into pieces faster than the image from batman's eyes get processed by his brain and a signal is sent for his muscles to move. But yet it happens in comic books.

Also, the origin for doomsday, super man coming back to life, all were changed drastically from the comics.

I accept stupid scenarios like that because otherwise half the story lines won't exist. And there are many inconsistencies in superman's powers depending on the comic books.

Cavill's portrayal of Superman was good, especially when near the end of Justice league when we get the non edgelord superman.

Lastly, Henry Cavill is hands down hotter than Christopher Reeve, which was my question :)

And, no, I really don't do comic book movies anymore. They are all ridiculous and my "suspension of disbelief" never really occurs anymore. I tolerate Batman because he has no superpowers. Same with Iron Man.

He was a good person, became evil because he believed people were out to get him because of his religion and what the nazis did to his family, but then ultimately realizes he's made a mistake. I'm Jewish as well so, I can sort of relate. That's why he's my favorite superhero. Plus, the power to bend metal, is so freaking cool, in my opinion
