No. I play with mine nonstop. I wiggle my tongue all day. No cracks. I even learned tricks like putting it in with my tongue alone or flipping it upside down with my tongue. Also, plastic or acrylic will help ensure you do not crack your teeth. (Accidentally biting metal while eating hurts.)
