Should people stop wearing makeup?
I used to always wear makeup and it consumed a lot of my time and it was to be beautiful. It did so much bad for my skin and I didn't want anyone to see me without makeup because I thought nobody would care or notice my existence without it. The past year I stopped wearing it only some mascara a couple of times. I was so much happier and free, also, I don't really look bad without makeup. Without it I focused more on what I really care about and it has kept me from losing any sort of beauty I already had. I think if we all just went bare faced so much drama would be avoided and time would be saved for so many people. It's gunk for faces to rub, smear, and smudge all over the face and overall it's a waste, a waste of money, a waste of energy.
I don't know, wear makeup if you like but there is a point where I was like "why am I even doing this?" and why are so many people doing this?

Yes and no. No: Straight women should absolutely do somethings that make them attractive and feminine. For thousands of years this is one of those things. Yes: Lots of women wear way too much makeup. I (and a lot of guys) aren't interested in women who look like totally different people when they take off the makeup vs. when they have it on. Less is more. Subtle is better than looking like a clown. If you only spend 1 minute doing your makeup that's fine. But I think I speak for guys who are actually into serious/deep relationship stuff. Guys who only want fun/shallow wouldn't care if you wear 10 pounds of makeup. As long as you look good to him in the 5 minutes (ha ha) he wants you.

There's competition too... I don't think most women can pull off wearing zero makeup once they're beyond early to mid 30s. And it seems like 99% of females think they need makeup starting at age 11 these days. Ha.

In a tribal community a guy doing that first had to earn the right to even be considered a man which meant doing some "toxic" masculinity stuff and being 100% raised and taught by men for years. That same guy would laugh in your face if you told him you know what's best. But modern women want to forget all of that and focus on some eye liner and lipstick bs. The only dudes doing that in western culture are homosexuals and dudes acting in movies/tv shows. They can be as feminine as you want cause that's what that face paint is all about.

makeup actually destroys your skin and natural beauty. Take a look at the women who do makeup on a daily basis, they actually have worse skin than those who rarely wear makeup. Its called a makeup addiction. When they don't wear makeup, their face looks soo washed , pale, no color, dull. This is the result of the destruction makeup had on their skin

People are doing it because they like it. Sometimes it's just that simple.

Yes. Wearing makeup is about the same as faking key personality traits. You're trying to attract someone based on who you can pretend to be and not who you are. Refusing to play this game might mean you have a harder time dating. Silver lining: You don't have to fear their reaction to seeing your natural look. Eyeliner/mascara and maybe some coverup if you have a breakout is all anyones should do in most situations. Believe me, the whole face masks some women paint on to just go outside the house is not attractive to a lot of guys and as you mentioned, isn’t doing themselves any favors either.

Some people really enjoy wearing make up. For a lot it is used as an artistic expression. People should wear what ever they want and what brings them joy. For you that's not wearing very much make up, for others it's art, and for others its just a part of their self care routine.
