Nope but if I visited a country where that would be the social norm I'd be fine with it. I'm not someone who likes wearing dresses at all and wearing a saree where I live would be highly unusual.
My girlfriend wear Bollywood's collection more revealing of blouse or without blouse or smaller Taylor made triangular bikini top.
Only for functions and party, get a lot of compliments.
Her mom is Indian mix background.
My understanding is that such dress emerged because it was just plain cooler in hot weather?
Would love to! Think they are truly beautiful, especially when very colourful <3.. though I never had an occasion to wear, and would not like to be disrespectful wearing it.
Itz a dress how can it be disrespectful if you wear it?
@Aakash_Hangargi seem like a traditional dress.. not sure if there are some customs associated with it, I would at least hear around before doing so.
It's a clothing that is worn by many not just India there are no customs for wearing a saree just that it should be tied properly or else the pallu which is on your shoulders would drop showing your chest so have to be very careful that's it
@Aakash_Hangargi ok, good to know :), though I never see anyone wear such, or around in normal stores, so not something I would just go out and buy anyway :D.. but maybe someday when going to India or so.
First of all you would need someone to train you to wear a saree š
It's not an easy job

@the_naughty_guy Yes Saree !!!
No thatās cultural appropriation and is racist.
Eh? Itās not racist to wear a traditional dress of another culture. Kindly look up the definition of racism. I think this whole āculture appropriationā concept is only prevalent in the USA. Whatās culture if nobody is willing to share it?
