I kinda think they fuss over nails is more for the girl to like herself, but not sure. Only one guy said something to me about mine and that made him miss the shot he was trying to shoot at me, oof...
I DO notice a woman’s nails, and to answer your questions - for me:
A. A woman’s nails DON’T have to be polished.
B. I DON’T like nails with designs on them (or “painted” in bold colors).
C. I DON’T like super long nails (or “specially shaped” nails).
D. It’s NOT a “must have” for me that a woman have her nails done: a woman NOT having her nails done certainly would NOT exclude her from being a possible romantic interest to me.
Furthermore:
I view a woman having her “nails done” much in the same way as her wearing jewelry or a nice skirt & heels: it’s a very nice enhancement of her femininity.
I love “French tip nails,” which has a clear or pale pink base color and the tips painted white…I think that is so feminine & attractive.

I don't like nails that are too long. I hate fake nails. I'm not impressed by nails with designs or multiple colors.
But I do care about a woman's nails. First, they must be clean. If they are manicured, it shows that she is well groomed.
I prefer nails that are on the shorter side, but long enough to be tapered, not squared off or too pointed. Polish is nice, but I prefer classy versus gaudy. Clear polish or a nice color is, again, a sign of grooming, as well as good taste.
I believe most guys don't pay attention to how a girl's nails look.. Most like them simple, short and classic, either red or French manicure.. It's girls, who like elaborate designs and long nails

Look at my screen name. LOL Yeah, I like it when a women has longer nails, but just natural ones.
A. Do they have to be polished? Not necessarily. They can be buffed and still look great.

A combination of A. and D. for me.
If you're gonna grow them long, paint 'em and not too long, like those press-on nails... NOT a turn on.
If you bit them off or like a guy, just wear your nails short, manicured and clean is at least expected. (Dirty nails are a turn off for me- a guy- just as it is for you girls.)
Within those parameters, I don't care a whole lot about nails! I don't think a lot of guys do either. 'More concerned with the rest of the package. (Y'all fuss over the most superficial things!)

i melt when i see girls doing girl things.
All I really care about is her toenails, and like the vast majority of men, I overwhelmingly prefer red, or something in the red family. I'm also very skilled at giving a woman a pedicure, which I greatly enjoy doing, especially if she has a date with her boyfriend.
I like longish nails on girls, and I like understated polish, like silver or pink. They make a girl's hands look sexy. But I can't stand that horrible black or purple polish, which reminds me of monster movies. And bright red nails remind me too much of blood!
I love them. They are a must to me. A woman would have to pretty hot to overcome bad nails. They look feminine. They feel amazing lightly scratching your skin. They are classy. Simple and elegant like French manicure or a solid color is best. Nothing too flashy and too long is just ghetto to me. In the eNo it’s all personal tastes.

I like when a woman looks after her hands which includes her nails which I like nicely manicured natural nails not to long and nicely polished in anything from deep red to bright red, pearl white, blue, green or other attractive colors that may go with her outfit.

d. Pretty much. My s/o has uneven, half painted half chipped off, and short nails. I like their nails nonetheless and tbh they really do not matter that much as long as they aren't in the way.

D. I do care, bitten off is weird. If a girl colors her nails I would prefer it to look like she's put a bit of effort into it, not just a small smudge.

I prefer them to look natural with no paint/polish and not longer than the ends of her fingers so she can do physical/sporty stuff without worrying about damaging them.

as long as their clean and neat, most guys could care less.
I prefer a girl with healthy natural finger and toe nails. I'm not picky on how long she keeps them tough. but if she plans to use polish on them rather she go with just a basic clear coat.

My preference is for short, natural nails on a woman. I really dislike the long "claw" look. And for painting something on them a clear coat is fine.
Never have, never will. All I ask is that she has good hygiene with her nails like I do. Well-maintained, shiny (natural is great), clean, etc. Just don't be nasty
I don't care how the nails look, unless they are super long and dangerous or yellowed by smoking cigarettes.

I do. Well-kept nails indicate good grooming. My SO leans to pink or red polish (fingers and toes) which I think looks fine.
