What are the best kind of shorts to wear under skirts and dresses?

Legging material booty shorts tend to work best, just because they're smooth, so they don't bulk up the skirt, and they're short enough that they won't be visible with most skirts. If it's a poofier, longer skirt though, and I'm going to be moving a lot, I sometimes just wear my shortest denim shorts underneath. I do that at work sometimes, when I know people are going to be seeing the shorts anyway. At least if it's denim, people can easily tell that they're shorts, not underwear.
