Ladies, what does "looks cute" mean?

When you are shopping or talking about an outfit, either on you or someone else, what does this phrase mean?

Are some of your thoughts things like:

• that will make my butt look good,
• the colors match my skin tone,
• this makes me feel super sexy,
• it matches my frame.

Or what other thoughts do you have?

"Cute" is a pretty versatile term. I use it for anything I think is visually appealing, and it covers just about everything looks-wise. Even for guys too, I'd say "he's cute" because I don't like to fret on the details and I think it justly describes things I find attractive. For outfits, I'd say "it looks cute" if I think it'll look good on my body, "gorgeous" is a more appropriate adjective for something more extravagant-looking though.

I guess I was mostly curious about what thoughts go into peoples heads before they actually "that looks cute".

I say it pretty instinctively, so I can't say there are many thoughts running through my head at that moment—all I know is that it'll look good on me. Also depends on your style. If you typically wear pretty revealing clothing, then saying something is cute basically translates to "sexy", also the case for me

Well, it means that it looks decent enough on me that I don’t look frumpy. When I say it about a female friend’s outfit, it means that she looks nice in it.
