How do you trim or cut off hair around anus and genitalia? Removing the hair by depilatory is harmful or st?

I used to use a cheap depilatory as "Lapiden" and it worked perfectly well after 10 minutes of waiting. But it had the same effect as razors, only, the depilatory was not sharp etc like razors which were a bit hard to use around there. However I doubt that it doesn't harm the genitalia or anus area because of the chemical content. So how do i remove the hair around there?
