I love to wear layers. I dressed a bit more casual today as I am wearing thick wool union suit (longjohn) with bleached linen poet shirt, patterned dupioni-silk cravat, Emerald-green silk waistcoat, brown thick wool frockcoat, thick wool blue striped trousers (sorry) + braces and riding boots. Very comfortable, I feel like I am sleeping in a duvet. I prefer casual wear over formal wear as I found the 3-inch tall newly starched detachable collars a bit o' uncomfortable. A 6" wide cravat, wrapped around my neck, and linen poet shirt (with collar) is enough to keep my privée (Adam's apple) away from the prying eyes. How about ye?

Let me guess... you are getting dressed to go out and do reenactment. You do dress well from everything that you described. You must have one large bank account for all these fancy pieces. Where do you find them?

That's a misconception. Looking good doesn't always mean it costs a lot.

I'm far from rich but I dress in a similar way. I prefer the periods between the 1920's and 1940's though. If you know where to look and attend a lot of vintage events you can find everything for far cheaper than all that fast fashion garbage and it will last a lifetime. One of my favourite items is a 1950's wool overcoat and it looks brand new even after all this time. Got it for only 70 Canadian dollars. Modern puffer coats on the other hand fall apart in a few years and cost way more.

I either make them, thrift them or get them tailored. My pieces are so powerful that I got an orgasm everytime I wear them or when I look at myself in the mirror
