How do you feel about your guy's underwear preference? Do you try to wear what he buys you, or buy stuff you know he will like, even if you don't like it?
For example if your guy said he prefers a sheer bra that is a little bit see through but you normally wear a push up bra, what would you do?
I bought a gym rat past girlfriend of mine what we called hipster undies which are cotton, some lace on the exterior of cotton, and tiny black bow... And some laced trim thong undies. The key being enough width so that blood isn't cut off at band or wedgy...

I would definitely try, I love trying stuff if my partner buys that for me and also I love buying stuff that I think my partner will enjoy or want to show off to my partner.
