How do you MAKE hair grow?

I think a lot of it has to do with genetics, care, and diet/lifestyle. Unfortunately, there isn't much that can be done about genetics and some people's hair grows faster and longer than others' (ask me how I know, I can't get my hair to grow past bra strap length 😭), but keeping it healthy so it doesn't break and getting good nutrition and exercise can make a difference. I've also heard some people swear by massaging the scalp to increase bloodflow and using certain types of oils.

Thanks!! I've been told coconut oil makes it grow but, up until a couple months ago, I was using a coconut oil-based shampoo and it didn't help at all.

Nioxin in shampoo or straight application. It messes up hormones or something though. Research it.

That's not what I mean, I HAVE long hair but it stopped growing a long time ago. I've never been able to get it past the middle of my back! Mostly, I'd like these two sets of strands on the sides to get long enough to stay in the ponytail holder!! They keep falling over my ears and sticking in my face!! I push them back behind my ears and, seconds later, they're in my face, again!! If it doesn't grow, I think I'm gonna start wearing pigtails!!
