Is it odd that I wear fake tan?

I'm a 23 year old, 5ft5 gay guy and I have worn fake tan for probably knocking on 5 years now, I love the glow of it and it's my safety blanket. It helps my confidence and self esteem, however I constantly get funny remarks regarding it and have been labelled "orangeboy" and "TropicanaFace", "Wotsit" and I laugh it off because iknow in most cases its just there poor attempt at humor but it has started to plague me with paranoia regarding my appearance and frustrates me that people can't just mind their own buisness 😤 Is it honestly that weird?

That is your choice. At least it is fake and not a real one that could harm your health. Personally, I do not tan. My skin pretty much stays the same. So, it would not make sense to me to fake it.

Hey, if you like it, don't worry what others think about it. You cannot let other people dictate what you like. That is no different than dressing a certain way. If that is your style, who am I (or anyone else) to judge you?

Now, since it is something that you do not have to do, you could always stop if it bothers you that much what other people are saying about it. You are right though. People should mind their own business.

I don't know why anyone would care what you do to your appearance. It makes no sense. Same with the other example of how people dress. It doesn't effect my life so why even worry what someone else is doing? Makes no sense.

Short men like you who are gay save themselves from a world of grief. I believe many gay men actually like shorter guys but women just cannot stand them. No girl wants to bring her boyfriend to her family for them to see that the best she can get was a 5ft6 guy when most out there are taller. What a bitter disappointment that is to her parents! Women are not attracted to average men and being <5ft6 like you and me makes us even less desirable than average in women's eyes. To be gay as a short man is a blessing and a saver from lots of bitter disappointment.
