Girls, what do you think of men wearing swim briefs in 2023 America? New England coastal family beach. Are we ok with it or still too prude here?

I showed this one to my wife, which I thought was very modest/didn't show anything, and her opinion was adamantly against, even though I am fit mid 30s and almost look as good as the model below (need to work on my abs a bit more for summer). She thinks it is "inappropriate" because everyone on the beach can see my package including kids. My sons see me in briefs all the time at home and don't care one bit. We are in Westchester NY and go to beaches in the area and NH coast. I'd wear them if they were more accepted, but appears that (at least according to my wife), we still too prude in America for straight confident males to wear modest swim briefs.

Well, I cannot speak as to what is acceptable or not in the US as I do not live there. I guess the question is why you feel you have to wear that style? Is there a reason for it? I am really just curious.

I tend to be on the conservative side when going to the beach, even though I wear a bikini. My swimwear is full coverage and not those skimpy ones some girls wear. Also, I wear a coverup on my lower half unless I am going in the water.

All I can say is that when I was in Australia during their summer, which is winter for most rest of us, you saw a lot of different styles that guys wore. I really didn't give it much of a thought because I mind my own business.

Thinking back, I don't recall seeing any guys in anything like that but could have totally missed it. The Aussies are fairly liberal with that stuff. I imagine some guys wear it. If your wife thinks it is best not to, ask her why. Then ask yourself why you want to.

Speaking for myself, I'll say prude. We don't see many men wearing this type of swim suit. It just looks out of place in the U. S.

Thanks for your opinion. If more men who look like this picture did, would it change your opinion? Stated differently, do you just think it looks out of place because few wear them or because it looks bad/inappropriate and you wouldn't want men to wear them?

My husband is from Europe as are many of my own relatives. This suit is perfectly appropriate there. It's just unfashionable here in the states.
