Do you wear Jeans or collect them?

If you wear or collect jeans, how do you wash, dry, and care for them?

Blue jeans are the only kind of long pants I own (that fit). So in cool weather I always wear jeans. In hot weather I wear shorts.

I wash them in cold water. I partially dry them in hot, then lower it to warm, then cool. Every now and then I use a fabric softener, but I have no idea if that actually does anything.

I have dedicated jeans for working on the car or doing other dirty work. All jeans should aspire to becoming work-on-the-car jeans. It's the highest level of enlightenment for jeans.

As far as collecting, I have a large number of jeans that no longer fit. Some of those are probably 30 years old or more.

I wear them all the time. When they get dirty I throw them in the clothes hamper and they end up in tha washing machine and then the dryer afterwards, when they get holes in them they end up being the pair if jeans I wear for painting or changing the oil in my truck. When they get really bad I wear them when I seal coat my driveway. Then they go to the dump

I wear jeans; I put my jeans with all color laundry clothes in the wash - cold water - normal color wash- use tide cubes... then dry them in normal temperature with bounce sheets fresh linen, i fold them and put them away and ready to be worn for the next time. Cheers

I wear them until they have holes in, then they get relegated to being worn only at home until the holes don't cover everything that needs to be covered and they get chucked. They get put in the washing machine from time to time, dark, cool wash. Never ironed.

I don't actually. I find the crotch uncomfortable on any fit small enough to fit my waist (30in)

@msc545. You have your jeans tailored? Why not try on several different kinds of jeans because they all fit differently. I cannot wear Levi's anymore but Lee jeans fit good

@exitseven I have tried different ones but in the end, I am so tall I really have no choice but to have them tailored to fit. I wear scrubs a lot too - not tailored! LOL

Wow, I had no idea you were really tall. What do you have for an inseam? It must be hard to get a pair of jeans tailored.

@exitseven My inseam is 38". Tailoring jeans is very expensive and challenging.

I can see where that would need to be tailored. I guess I just don't have enough occasion to wear them to pay that kind of expense. If I'm going out for personal reasons I'm in slacks to a 3-piece, depending on event, if i'm going out in the woods i'm wearing rip-stop... same with chores like firewood or moving the trees around. I "get" them as a fashion statement, just not one I'd use enough to warrant the cost. Plus they're heavy as crap when they get wet.

Wow, that is very long. I am surprised you could find then in the stores. Have you tried Carhartt? They have x-long and they are more roomy on the thigh and seat.

@exitseven I get them locally at a wholesaler. My Jeans last for years. I wash them in cold water, use very gentle detergent, and never iron them, and air dry them.

I beat mine all up. The knees get worn and sometimes the bottoms get frayed. I wash them and stick them in the dryer. I usually get them from Carhartt or LLBean

Neither, I recall only one pair of jeans I owned, a pair of I'll fitting Levi's I had for a few days before I returned them
