I saw Walmart has Hanes tighty whites 6 ok for $10.98 vs Macys 7 pack for $42. You don’t need to be a genius to difference in price. Is it just marked up and get discounted to “feel” like a better deal?

According to recent research, Walmart is currently selling a 6-pack of Hanes tighty whites for $10.98, while Macy’s is offering a 7-pack for the substantially higher price of $42. Upon seeing these prices, one might begin to wonder what could cause such a significant difference.
It’s important to understand that the price of an item is not solely dependent on the cost of production. Retailers must consider various factors when setting the price of their products. For example, Macy’s may have higher overhead costs such as rent, electricity, and employee wages. These costs are then passed on to the customer in the form of higher prices.
On the other hand, Walmart is known for its low prices due to its efficient supply chain and bulk purchasing power. The company buys products from manufacturers in large quantities, allowing them to negotiate lower prices and pass those savings on to customers. As a result, Walmart is able to offer products at a lower price than many of its competitors.
However, the question remains: Is the price difference between Walmart and Macy’s primarily due to Macy’s being marked up, or is Walmart just offering a better discount? In all likelihood, it is a combination of both. Retailers often mark up their products above what they paid for them so they can offer discounts and still turn a profit. In addition, Walmart’s ability to purchase products in bulk at a lower cost also contributes to their competitive pricing.
It’s important to note that just because an item is sold at a lower price doesn’t necessarily mean it’s of lower quality. In the case of Hanes tighty whites, the product is the same regardless of where it is purchased. The difference in price is simply due to the individual store’s pricing strategy.
In conclusion, the significant price difference between the Hanes tighty whites 6-pack sold at Walmart and the 7-pack sold at Macy’s is likely due to a combination of factors. While Macy’s may have higher overhead costs, it’s also possible that they are marking up the product to offer a discount. Meanwhile, Walmart’s bulk purchasing power allows them to offer lower prices. Regardless, customers can rest assured that the product quality is not compromised by purchasing it at Walmart.
Exquisite response.
Thank you :)
So basically logistics.
Maybe the Walmart ones are made cheaper just for Walmart because they can buy in bigger bulk then Macy's can
Or
Macy's are ripping you off (which they are) or they have Hanes higher quality line and still over charging you
I mean your paying for higher quality right?
Maybe that's what they want you to think
Wow £42 is expensive for briefs. £10 is much more reasonable for a 6 pack.
