Best shoes to keep out woodchips etc?

I love my New Balances, but need to retire them to indoor shoes because every time I walk outside, something falls in and pokes my foot-so annoying!

For context, I work as a teacher and walk on woodchips during recess. Yes, my shoes are tied up tight and are the correct size.

Also, I need a shoe with good arch support because I have a high arch.

If things are falling into the top, then I don't think the shoes will make much difference. They just need to be tight. Having cushy material around the ankle might help.

I was a carpenter. Splinters and small wood chips were annoying but it's just something we had to deal with. It sucked putting on a clean pair of socks in the morning and having splinters in them. It sucked even more putting on a clean pair of underwear that had splinters in them. Yea, when you're a carpenter cutting wood all the time, splinters and chips go everywhere, including down your pants, in your eyes, etc.

I've worn Saucony shoes for many many years now, including when I was a carpenter. They are good shoes and last a very long time. However they were bought by another company and I don't know if they are the same as before. They used to have a wizard at their web site you could use to pick shoes with criteria like high arch, pronation, etc.

Also I checked out my two pairs of running shoes and realized why one might be letting the woodchips in-the one that is actually does have chshioning around the ankle while the one that doesn’t let woodchips in does not.
I ended up getting Allbirds for their sustainability :)

Yes, underwear. Sawdust flies everywhere, and you pretty much get it all over. Some of the splinters washed out, but some usually remained. It's difficult to find them all and pick them out by hand.

You might think of sawdust as being pretty fine, but with a sharp blade on a professional saw that tears through wood, the sawdust can be pretty chunky.

If you are asking if I ever got a splinter in the soft skin of my privates - yes, it was somewhat common. It rarely stayed in the skin. It just stuck me every time I took a step.

I never heard of Allbirds. I just bought some Sketchers, but I'm going to take them back.
