Why is it that no matter how long I am outside or at the beach I never TAN?

No matter how long i am outside i stay white. Like i got way darker than i used to be I look golden now, it is noticeable irl not on photos lol but many people still think that I wasn't on vacation because of how pale my skin is. What is it? Why it happens? Anyone else with this issue? I like my skin colour it's just that it's weird that on summer I don't tan lol

Depending on your levels of melanin. Example your skin easily tans then you have high melanin levels. If you have low melanin then you wouldn't tan that much.

Mostly with people based on their race ethnicity. Example those with high melanin. Mediterraneans like Italians, Spanish, Portuguese, Maltese, Sicilians, etc. Asians like Filipinos, Indonesians, Malaysians. Most Hispanic Latin Americans.

Those with low melanin. Most northern germanic europeans. Which explains why their skin turns reddish.

Non-Tan people like most Sahara Black Africans and South East Asians. Also are full of Melanin.

Greeks and Macedoniaa are too high in melanin. Are you fully Greeks 🤔

So. Melanin is a basically natural pigmentation that keeps your skin tone glowing. Which explains why tanning results. Again you're low in melanin and ain't fully Greek.

It is something in your skin. Some people turn red and then go back to white, some people tan very easily and can get very dark. It's genetics. I'm natrually pale but I can get really tanned but I dont like the heat lol and doesn't matter for me what my skincolor is. I dont remember what that thing is called though😓

My skin used to be that way. But this year I haven't burnt at all, which is very surprising (I didn't even wear sunscreen most of the time). But I did tan for once. Only thing I can say is to keep your skin moisturized and go outside when it's not too hot.

My brother can't tan and just burns as does my mother

If I work out side then I turn olive and my father used to work out side and would end up so bronze like a yacht living tax exile i. e. Phillip Green

You can't get tan because you are genetically white. If you try to stay in sun you will get sun burns overtime.

Isn't it great that your color is preserved?

Last time I got sunburned in my right side. And severe tan. Thankfully it returned to normal :)

Why would you want to? It's unhealthy and leads to premature aging. Do this if you want to look 70 when you are 50.

Melanin is the reason. The more melanin you have in your skin the darker you are, or quicker your skin will darken.

So if you are not tanning then you are a very low level of it
