What are some ways to look more mature?

I need some tips on how to look older. Possibly wear makeup, change my outfits? Any suggestions would be helpful.

Last night I was out with my family and a man mistaked me as my husband's daughter. Like wtf 😖. He was shocked when I told him that I birthed all my kids. I'm tired of looking so young. I wish I could look my age 😕

You should definitely appreciate your youthful appearance, but I can also understand how frustrating it can be to be mistaken for a child.

If you want people to perceive you as older then the key is being more polished and put together. That does include make-up and clothes, but also how you present yourself.

For clothes, be sure they fit you correctly. If you have a jacket the doesn't fit correctly on your shoulders or pants that are dragging on the floor then it will look sloppy which can be perceived as juvenile. In terms of style lean more on timeless styles like Classy, French, Academia, Office Wear, etc. If those aren't your style you could always mix your style with some of those timeless or professional pieces. For example, you could mix an edgy military or leather jacket with classic pump heels or add a blazer over a t-shirt and jeans. Additionally just because they are timeless pieces doesn't mean they have to be boring. The blazer could be a bold yellow or a floral print. Focus on timeless cuts and shapes as well as quality material. Another thing you could try is adding accessories to your outfit. That little bit of effort can polish an outfit really quick.

For makeup, quality is better than quantity. Be sure to find makeup that looks good AND that can last the whole day. Lean more into neutral colors for your eye makeup. Furthermore lipstick can also be used as an "accessory" to complete an outfit/look. A bold color or a neutral... it doesn't matter as long as it looks good with your complexion.

For how to present yourself, there are three things to keep in mind - body language, your words, and confidence. If you are slouching, biting your nails, or not keeping eye contact while talking to someone it can also be perceived as juvenile. Same can be said for having poor grammar (personally this is the worse one for me) or using the f-word every two seconds. In addition, you can expand your vocabulary. We're not looking for William Shakespeare quality here, but knowing the proper names or having more adjectives will also help. Now finally, confidence. You don't need to know all the answers or become an extrovert. Even while looking for help or asking a question you can be confident rather than being timid or muttering. Whatever you are doing... be intentional. Confidence (not arrogance) will be perceived as responsible and put together which will make you look mature.

Remember you are not altering your personality or style…you are polishing what you already got and love. I hope this helps!

I’d enjoy looking young now. You’re in your 20s still and in your prime even in your 30s you will be. People don’t start showing their ages sometimes till 50s in my opinion but it also goes by genes and lifestyle habits. Just shows you’re doing a good job. I’m almost 25 but people think I’m 19-22 but I love it.

Some people just look younger than they are no matter what they try to do.
Think of all of the products out there to make you look younger, and probably not many to make you look older.
Possibly hair style, make up and what you wear.

Yeah, I’ve been there too. It is really annoying to get mistaken for being THAT young. Plus, being short will make you seem younger. You can dress older to look older (not 50-60 old) but like 30s.

I can assure you, that you probably look somewhat your age, face wise.. It's just that some people are not the sharpest tools in the drawers always.. Or don't pay attention.. But putting on makeup definitely would do the trick..

You could start wearing grandma clothes, but hairstyle and style choices really influence how old or mature someone looks. But if I had to guess, you enjoy looking comfortable/sexy though.
