a lot depends on what I am doing at the moment.
Daily wear, not at work, sneakers, at work I have a pair of adidas side zip boots with a flat sole and the re-enforced toe, but not a steel toe, they feel like sneakers, with my fire gear a pair of stout leather boots, steal toe, insulated, water resistant/proof, when I am working at the race track either a pair of low fire resistant shoes from g force, or my adidas boots, in the winter I have a few pairs of insulated water resistant/proof boots depending on what I am doing, and I have a pair of touring boots and a pair that look like sneakers but have the crash protection in the ankles when I am on one of my motorcycles.
I'm not really a name brand type guy, as long as they look good , I'm super.. I especially don't Jordan's.. Too expensive, plus I couldn't wear them around without somebody trying to rob me. I do like converse though.. Air Force ones are classic but... Again it's in the same vein as Jordan's.. But at least Air forces look nicer..
If I had the money, I'd throw on some Brooks Ghosts. Comfortable shoe for daily use.
Currently though, I'm trying to work myself with Xero shoes. (Or any minimalist shoe.) It's just a fun challenge for me even if it's ugly by some standards.

Boots are my preferred, steel toes are the best, they can have many uses but I also use normal Adidas sneakers, I got two pairs, the clean ones and the dirty ones
These are the last pair of shoes I bought. Keen Cincinnati soft toe boots extra wide, the only tall boots that fit my fat wide feet. They aren't going to win any fashion shows, but they are the most comfortable boots ever.
