I wanted, I thought about it, I even had an idea for a design... but I guess I really didn't want it, because I never for it, and I don't have it...
and, at this point of my life... I just don't feel the same about it... so, I can go without
I want to get the curse mark that Guts from Berzerk has on his neck, but haven't been able to find anyone willing to do a neck tat as my first tattoo.
It's a symbol of perseverance. Surviving against impossible odds, and continuing the struggle. That's how I see it anyway.
It also looks cool, lol...
Of course. Berzerk weirdly inspired me to do better. Gut's way of just refusing to give up really helped me through some tough times... it is incredible how fictional characters can impact us so much.
Yeah, it ends very abruptly. It helps you breeze through the Gold age story arc, but there is a lot missing. I would really recommend reading the manga.
Incredible artwork too
No problem!
Love the concept. Why is it so difficult to find a tattooist that will do your neck? I have a ton of ink and I know quite a few artists and the only thing I've seen them turn away is specialty work like permanent make-up (eyelids, lips, etc.) that require speciality training.
I was told by one artist that she doesn't think the neck is a good first tattoo because tattoos might end up not being for me and it's such a visible place, pain, my age, etc. I guess these are valid concerns and she was nice about it.
However, another guy refused to do it because he said he doesn't "respect" people who get their neck/face/hands done unless they are already covered in tats. He said you have to "earn" them. Sounds like bullshit to me, if I paid for it, and went through the pain of getting it, I earned the tattoo. That one pissed me off, lol.
I think he was implying that I just wanted the neck tat to look cool. If that were the case, I wouldn't also be considering getting a tattoo on my back, a place that will be covered in most public places.
If you were 18, I'd say give it a few years. For instance my artist won't tattoo anybody under 21, because he wants them to have a bit of life experience before making an irreversible decision. that being said, you are older and seem to have your shit together. Regarding location, yeah, some employers might look at you like a convict, but you know that already. Pain is a guarantee wherever you get inked. They say, "No pain, no stain" and "You have to earn that tattoo" by dealing with the pain not like that other guy. Usually the most sensitive places are where the sun doesn't shine (inside of the arms, legs, etc.) and the bony parts with little or no flesh (ankles, wrists, sternum, kneecaps, elbows, spine, top of shoulders, etc.) The neck, from what I hear (not tattooed there yet) is not so bad. And that is complete bullshit that you have to get your whole body done before neck/face/hands.
I'm sure you'll find an artist. If there are any tattoo conventions where you live, it's a great way to meet a lot of skilled artists.
A bit of advice for first time tattoos and also when considering placement. UV light destroys tattoos over time. So if you live in a sunny climate and your neck sees a lot of sun, without daily heavy sunscreen or covering it with a collar or a big het to provide shade, you're tattoos will start to degrade and turn to mush. My artist had several pro surfers approach him but he refused because these guys are literally in the sun ALL day.
Lastly when you go for your first session (or the only session if it's small), make sure you eat a full meal before you go. With the constant pain (which is not so bad), your body uses a ton of energy to cope, and if you don't eat, most likely you will feel light headed and pass out. I've seen it dozens of times.
Good luck and shoot us a photo when you get it!
I haven't given up, I do plan on getting it in the near future and will absolutely shoot you a photo! And thanks, I really do appreciate the advice! Good looking out
Thanks for MHO!
I don't have any. If I were to get one, it would be something on the smaller side and hidden. Maybe a Phoenix. But I doubt I'll actually get one.

No thanks, I've got plenty of pens here that I hardly ever use. I do most of my writing on the computer and I can't get any of them to talk to the printer.
