I've been doing my own gel nails for a little while now.

So much fun trying different colours and designs. Plus it helps me a lot with my dermatillomania.

This is a perfect example of how I'm a winner in life because I don't give up.
Ever since mother brought a computer to my basement, my eyesight got in the way and I wouldn't recognize nail colors even if I wanted to.
But just because I cannot see my own nails in the dark, it's not to say that everything is over just yet!
I make sure they're not washed and trimmed too frequently that I can smell my nails in the dark, doesn't take that much effort actually. But I'm proud I haven't given up, and I thank god for all my 5 senses.
@Billlewis I suppose I made a groundbreaking discovery that fingernails smell just like poop, but it doesn't attract flies.
There's no need to. You cannot see them
Very rarely because it is really time consuming, but I love pastel colors or silver glitter
I never paint them because I am so busy biting them
That sounds amazing! I do paint my own nails sometimes, and itโs such a relaxing and creative process, isn't it? 🌸 Trying different colors and designs can be so much fun. I'm glad it's helping with your dermatillomania; finding something enjoyable that also provides relief is wonderful. What's your latest nail design?
Oh, for fuck's sake.

I do
its super fun
Yes I've always painted my finger nails and toe nails. I don't know how it is to get a pedi because I don't think I'll like people touching my feet, plus I save money. I do want to try the gel kit
I rarely bother anymore, if I do, it is usually a dark color like black or dark blue or burgundy. I used to paint them in the past.
I've been painting my nails black since age 6 or so, yeah...
started with Sharpies, though
should say I can do it to perfection... due to my OCD tendencies and fixations, painting my nails to perfection in one go, was a must...
Not anymore. I used too when I was younger. Nowadays I get professional manicures done every three weeks.
No, I go to the salon to get my nails 💅 done
Nope, professional manicures, I don't know why I stopped it's fun to me and I'm not bored at all.
They look great, no I have never tried them myself, I only go for manicures sometimes, I am actually interested in such things, I would like to do them myself like you.
Yeah. I still have my blue nail polish that shimmers both on my fingernails and toe nails.
I usually take care of her feet, which of course includes giving her pedicures regularly.
Only on the weekends when no one is watching. 🙂
Dermatillomania is no big deal.
Remember you can pick your friends, you can pick your nose, but you can't pick your friends nose ๐
Dermotillomania is absolutely a big deal.
Just trying to make it lighter for you with a little humor, not minimizing your suffering.
I do not, sorry. But hobbies of any kind are good to keep the mind busy.
If that's you in the picture, You're pretty:)
My little sis wanted to paint my fingernails so i let her paint my middle fingernails black lol!
Oh yeah I wear nail polish all the time
Women with natural nails are the best !
Natural is boring and doesn't work for me
Boring? Ok, that means your nails don't grow well, so plastic is your choice. To each their own. Plastic is gross to me.
My nails aren't plastic... They're my natural nails with nail polish on them.
So what's your point? You're bored with your own natural nails?
I think it's more fun having different colours. And as I said in the post it helps with my dermatillomania
I'm not following... changing colors has nothing to do with having natural nails or fake. You can change colors any time you want?
Natural nails to me means no nail polish. Or natural nails with polish means no extensions to add length. What does it mean to you?
Yes I can change them when I want but typically every 2-3 weeks.
Sorry... the term "natural nails" to me means your real nails, not artificial or plastic. It doesn't mean unpolished or without treatment of any kind, it just means "not artificial nails". I see your point now.
I see. I don't see anything wrong with false nails if they're done Nicely they can add extra strength to keep natural nails safe and healthy underneath.
I'll agree to disagree. Overlays or wraps on top of natural nails are not what I consider to be "false". False nails are when you glue on plastic tips that have nothing to do with your own nails.
Yes that's what I'm talking about... Not all false nails are just the tips. Many cover the entire nail. A couple of the pictures I posted up there actually have a couple false nails due to some nails being shorter than the others. They don't look any different than the rest of my nails.
Do u match fingers and toes?
No I don't like painting my toes
Leave them
Hardly ever do
Probably not. What I wear will be entirely dependant on what the situation is with my leg issue at that time. Hopefully whatever is going on can be sorted out by then. Either way I'll wear close toed shoes. Heel height will depend on the leg. Not good at walking in heels anyway, so either low heel or flats.
No idea. Awaiting a referral to orthopaedics for a MRI. Have a lump behind my knee that's causing pain.
Nah. I get them done professionally. 😊
Yes sometimes..
They look awesome
You have beautiful hands🙂
Yes, sometimes.
Sure
